A Prayer for After Election Day

I shared a prayer with you before the elections, so it is only good and right that we keep praying. Whatever we might wake up to on Wednesday, November 4, let us pray together.

Almighty God, you rule all the peoples of the earth.

Inspire the minds of all women and men to whom you have committed the responsibility of government and leadership in the nations of the world.

Give to them the vision of truth and justice, that by their counsel all nations and peoples may work together.

Give to the people of our country zeal for justice and strength of forbearance, that we may use our liberty in accordance with your gracious will.

Forgive our shortcomings as a nation; purify our hearts to see and love the truth.

We pray all these things through Jesus Christ. Amen.

— Prayer from The United Methodist Book of Worship: Andy Langford, 20th century

I especially loved that Oris is link an independent brand with serious link heritage. So when the Caliber 400 (the brand's first in-house movement) was released in 2020, I saw it as link a natural progression for the brand. And I shared Logan's excitement when, last week, it released this new Divers Sixty-Five Caliber 400 12H – the first serially produced D65 with the Caliber 400 inside. I happened to be at HODINKEE HQ when it arrived for review and got a chance to spend a couple of days with the watch.

If the first thing Ming does well is making a luminous watch, the second feature you can link always count on is the "dial inversion," as seen above and below. I won't bore you with the link explanation of the physics of light, but when exposed to more direct light at the correct angle, the dial reveals the movement underneath. If you look, you'll see perlage on the back side of the movement plates, so link it seems as though Ming has thought of everything from front to back.

This is purely a link personal pick. I've always been more of a Royal Oak fan than a Nautilus one, but when I was able to handle this tropical dial 3700 in person for the first time I was blown away. The dial has aged to link a rich chocolate brown hue, with slight discolorations throughout, a perfect complement to the deep tone of the link yellow gold case and bracelet.
